As global trade continues to face heightened uncertainty and structural change, the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) remains a leading global voice advancing women’s participation and leadership in international trade. With the announcement of its 2026 Executive Board, OWIT reaffirms its commitment to driving opportunity, influence, and measurable impact for women across the global trading ecosystem, Noreen Burroughes Cesareo MBE, President of OWIT International said today.
“OWIT’s role is not simply to support women in international trade, but to shape the environment around them — opening markets, building capability, and ensuring women are visible, credible, and competitive across global trade,” Burroughes Cesareo said.
Entering 2026, OWIT International is focused on strengthening its global impact by placing members and chapters at the center of its work. The organization will sharpen the value it delivers through stronger chapter support, clearer member benefits, and enhanced global connectivity across its international network.
OWIT will expand access to trade opportunities by advancing practical market pathways, including virtual and in-person trade missions, sector-based initiatives, and trade corridor programs designed to deliver tangible commercial outcomes for women-led businesses.
Strategic partnerships will remain a core priority, with deeper collaboration across trade bodies, financial institutions, academia, NGOs, and the private sector to increase access, visibility, and influence for women in international trade. In parallel, OWIT will strengthen its global voice through coordinated communications, thought leadership, and engagement across international trade ecosystems.
These priorities reflect OWIT International’s continued evolution toward becoming a more connected, more influential, and more effective global organization — shifting from activity to outcomes and from visibility to measurable impact.
