Biographical Information
Mia Mikic is a trade economist with a keen interest in sustainable development and with a proven track record and experience in academia and international civil service. She is a board member of the Friends of Multilateralism Group. Current roles: -Advisor at Large for the Asia-Pacific Research and Training Network on Trade (ARTNeT), an open network of research and academic institutions and think-tanks in the Asia-Pacific region. -Visiting fellow at the Institute for Euro-Asian Studies, the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb -Research Fellow at the Waikato Management School, The University of Waikato, New Zealand . Member of the International Advisory Board for the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia - also providing advisory services in a broad area of trade,  development and global governance and trade curricula. Former affiliations: - Director, Trade, Investment and Innovation Division in United Nations ESCAP (2017-2021), and other functions in the UN (2005-2017) - Head of the Department of Economic Theory, Professor of International Economics and Director of Economic and Business International Program at the University of Zagreb (2001-2005) and various positions (1978-1988) - Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland (1988-2005)
